Empowering Veterans Through Education, Additive Technologies, and Prosthetics
In 2025, the Ukrainian product IT company appflame supported a comprehensive initiative that brings together education, the development of additive manufacturing technologies in Ukraine, and the reintegration of veterans into civilian life through mastering a new profession in the field of prosthetics.
Key Achievements in 2025
🎓 Education & Skills Development

An introductory course “3D Modeling and Printing in Engineering and Biomedical Engineering” was successfully delivered.

29 veterans completed the course, gaining foundational skills in additive manufacturing and biomedical applications.
🎓 Master’s Degree Programs

33 veterans enrolled in master’s degree programs in Biomedical Engineering and Applied Mechanics at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI).

Each participant received:

a full tuition grant, and
-
a monthly scholarship of USD 200 for the entire duration of their master’s studies.

🏗 Infrastructure Development

A new educational and research laboratory for prosthetics, medical rehabilitation, and occupational therapy was established.

An inclusive dormitory space for veterans is currently under development, ensuring accessible and supportive living conditions during their studies.
Project Framework & Partners
The project is implemented at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with the support of the Ukrainian product IT company appflame, in cooperation with Genesis for Ukraine.
By combining advanced education, additive manufacturing technologies, and targeted social support, the initiative creates sustainable pathways for veterans to build new professional careers while strengthening Ukraine’s domestic capacity in prosthetics and rehabilitation technologies.
