Our Director, Nataliia Seminska, was a guest on the latest episode of the Ptashka Drones podcast. Together with the hosts, she discussed an area that is especially important to AMSP: supporting veterans and wounded service members through modern technologies and engineering solutions.
An orthosis is more than just a device that helps stabilize a limb or restore movement. Behind every such device is a real person—with their own injury, individual needs, and journey back to everyday life.
In this episode, we discuss:
🔹 how an orthosis differs from a prosthesis;
🔹 why a high-quality device is only one part of the rehabilitation process;
🔹 how modern laboratories and 3D technologies help create personalized solutions;
🔹 the challenges wounded service members and veterans face when returning to civilian life;
🔹 why education, employment, social inclusion, and a sense of purpose are equally important parts of recovery.
At AMSP, we believe that technology must serve people. That is why we are developing a programme that provides orthoses free of charge to wounded service members and veterans, working on new engineering solutions, and engaging partners to make these opportunities more accessible.
We sincerely thank the Ptashka Drones team for the opportunity to speak openly about what happens after an injury—and about how, by working together, we can create more opportunities for people to return to an active life.
